The device lasted exactly one use before the plastic hopper started cracking. I bought a $150 electric shredded that had high ratings last spring. I've been looking for such a device for a couple years. Not talking like a chipper for chipping branches, but I could use that as well.
It works well in the places where I want to leave them in place, but I'm looking for a shredded to shred leaves as well as other garden waste to use in composting. I have neighbors who deliver leaves in the fall by the cubic yard. I use shredded leaves in my compost piles. I shred them in part of the yard where the oaks do not offer enough light for grass to grow well. I have collected and used leaves for various purposes for 15+ years.
